Why is this measure important?

An administrative hearing is a key step in the City's blight eradication process. A judgment rendered against a property enables the city to move forward with the demolition or lien foreclosure of the judgment.

Hearing: A proceeding by an independent administrative officer to determine whether or not a property is guilty of violating the City’s minimum property maintenance code. Initial Hearing: The first time a unique property has been brought to a hearing, without having had a prior hearing that was “reset” or rescheduled to a follow-up hearing at a later date.
