Data on City priorities and objectives
UHU (Unit Hour Utilization) measures the percentage of NOEMS staff members' shifts that are spent responding to emergency calls. Higher UHU means less time for NOEMS staff to rest between calls, which may negatively affect performance and lead to higher rates of turnover among paramedics.
Unit Hours: the total number of hours that ambulances were scheduled for shifts. Utilization: the total number of hours in scheduled shifts that were spent in transit, with patients, at the hospital, or any time spent in a status other than 98. Status 98: an amublance is clear, i.e. available to respond to the next emergency call.
