Be the first to know about NEW DATA!

Have you ever used data from data.nola.gov? Do you keep up with our data releases like it’s your job? Have you ever suggested that we release a set of City data? Do you care deeply about transparency in City government?

Well, if you can answer “yes” to any of the questions above, you would benefit from receiving auto-notifications from the City of New Orleans Open Data portal (data.nola.gov). It’s easy to get these notifications sent to your email. Follow the instructions below to create an account and turn on your notifications.

Step 1 - Create (or Sign In) to your account at data.nola.gov.

SHORTCUT! If you are creating an account for the first time, you’ll receive an email like the one here. The last line contains a link to your ‘Account Settings’. This is where you will find your email notification options.

Step 2 – Go to your account settings

After you have signed in to your account at data.nola.gov, click on your name and then, My Profile. On your profile page (shown here) click the link on the right hand side that says Edit Account Settings.

Step 3 – Edit account settings

On the account settings page, scroll down to the Email Notifications section. If you check the boxes labeled, Any view is created, Any view is made public and Actions directly affecting you, such as comment replies and status updates – you’ll receive email notifications when we publish new datasets! You can also be notified of nominations, or datasets that other citizens are interested in.

And that's it! We'll be posting other ways to make the most of the City's open data program and you can also sign up for notifications of new blog posts - see the link at the top right of this page.
